Done, at last

Well, it's take awhile, but I've finally finished GBPL Learns. I enjoyed some of it - Flickr has become an invaluable tool (like how the pictures print ot a color copier.) I can't say yhat I'm crazy about watching video on the computer - but it is popular and now I know how to dot it. I like Good Reads because I think that at heart I'm a frustrated critic (not to mention a know-it-all). Ask a Librarian was great - the answer came really quick great tool to have. Maybe I've always taken the Web sites and tools we have at GBPL for granted and I now have a new appreciation for the work that goes into making them. Thanks for the opportunity....

Number 9

So, I signed up for Good Reads (http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1621062) I think I probably will use this in the future. It's great for reviews. Wish they had it for movies. The library could definitely use this for the reviews.

wikis

O.K. I visited all three wikis listed - my favorite was the one about libraries. I also posted a favorite tv mini-series on the Tapestry of Freedom.

Pod Casting

I took the two minute tour of GBPL - it was cute. I can see how libraries can reach patrons - especially younger ones - with videos on u-tube. There were many pages to choose from from various libraries - it would also be great for conferences and shared learning. At home I have already viewed podcasts such a Jimmy Kimmel and
Ben Affleck, Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon, Will Farrell, SNL stuff. I think it's great for these short little bits that everyone is talking about. However, I can't say that I enjoy watching long things on the computer - I would never watch a movie, a tv show, or book pages.

My Space

I forgot to mention that I also not have a My Space page - my poor daughter took mercy on me is my only friend......I don't like social networking and will probable never do it agin.....Did I mention that my daughter only befriended me on MySpace because she only uses Face Book?

Social bookmarking

Well, I'm finally back at it - delicious was easy to use and finding articles about libraries doing web 2.0 was even easier - Maybe I will finish after all.
